FileExtension.org gives you free tools to open and inspect your files. Use them for anything legal. Everything below just spells that out.

Using the service

• The tools are free to use, with no account required. You may use them for personal or work files.
• You are responsible for the files you open and for what you do with the results.
• Don't abuse the service: no automated hammering, no scraping at scale, and no attempts to break it or make it unavailable for other people.
• Don't use the tools to do anything illegal, or to handle files you have no right to.

No warranty

The tools are provided "as is". We work hard to open files correctly, but we can't promise every file will render perfectly, or that the service will always be available. Always keep your own backup of anything important.

Limit of liability

FileExtension.org is a free service. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss that comes from using (or not being able to use) the tools. You use them at your own risk.

Changes

We may change, add or retire tools, and update these terms over time. The date at the top shows the latest version; the one rule above stays the same.

Names and trademarks

File-format names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We mention them only to describe what each tool does.
